Educational Requirements

The OT must meet the minimum requirement of having a master's degree in occupational therapy, and meet fieldwork requirements, in order to participate in the OTED process.

The following documentation must be provided in order for the OTED review to be conducted:

  • National Government Recognition documentation (if applicable)
  • Official final transcript(s)
  • Verification of Academic Credential Form (if applicable)
  • Course syllabi reflecting content taught at the time the OT completed the coursework
  • Program Director Form

Internationally-educated OTs who graduated with an entry-level master’s degree in occupational therapy from a government-authorized educational program, and can provide the required documentation for OTED review are eligible to apply for the OTED process.

Additional coursework may be needed to satisfy requirements.

Internationally-educated OTs who graduated with an entry-level bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from a government-authorized educational program AND a post professional master’s degree in occupational therapy or post professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD), and can provide the required documentation for OTED review are eligible to apply for the OTED process. 

Additional coursework may be needed to satisfy requirements.
