  • Item Writer Program: Help develop examination items for the OTR or COTA examination.
  • OTR Certification Examination Development and Validation Committee-Multiple Choice Group (OTR only)​: Serve on a committee that reviews and validates multiple choice items for the OTR examination.
  • OTR Certification Examination Development and Validation Committee-Clinical Simulation Group (OTR only): Serve on a committee that develops, reviews, and validates clinical simulation test items for the OTR examination.
  • COTA Certification Examination Development and Validation Committee (COTACE): Serve on a committee that reviews and validates items for the COTA examination.
  • Competency Tool Development Committee (CTDC): Serve on a committee that develops new content for NBCOT study tools.
  • Continuing Competency Project Development Committee (OTR only): Serve on a committee that develops tools and products for the continuing competency program.
  • Ad-hoc opportunities as they arise

Application Criteria:

  • Current OTR or COTA certification
  • Three to five years of experience in a specific occupational therapy practice area (Mental Health, Physical Disabilities, Pediatrics, School-based)
  • Good writing, reviewing, and editing skills
  • Commitment to work within a scheduled timeline
  • Ability to work well in teams
  • Computer literate
  • Willing and able to travel to meetings, if necessary

2.  NBCOT selects volunteers based on a variety of key factors.  To protect the confidentiality and intellectual property of NBCOT products, any perceived or real conflict of interest could affect selection onto an NBCOT committee.
