Certificants

NBCOT certificants maintain their practice competency by satisfying a certification renewal requirement. The requirement includes a variety of competency assessment and professional development activities that certificants can utilize to sustain their occupational therapy practice skills. OTR, COTA, employers, and regulators provided input into identifying the activities and determining value of these activities.

The certification renewal requirement of 36 units is consistent with the licensure renewal requirements of most states.
