Initial certification is just the beginning of your journey with NBCOT – the organization believes that continually supporting a certificant's practice has long term benefits for all stakeholders: clients, client's families, employers, payers, regulators, and educators.
When an OTR or COTA renews their national certification, it shows that they place value in professional development and evidence-based practice. It also shows a commitment to the NBCOT mission of serving the public interest.
At NBCOT, we are your partner in promoting excellence in practice throughout your career. Not only do we set the national standard for certification, we also offer you the tools you need to identify your practice strengths and weaknesses to better advance your continued competency.
NBCOT certification is granted for a three-year period. By maintaining your NBCOT certification, you will have access to the NBCOT Navigator, a suite of online competency development tools that augment and support professional development efforts and competency goals of OTR and COTA certificants.
