The goal of this workshop is to remove fear and anxiety from splint fabrication by offering “hands-on” experience in splint design and construction. Participants will learn to fabricate approximately 15 splints with various patterns, applications, and materials. This course is designed for beginner to intermediate level splinters looking for an opportunity to “get the advantage” by improving their skills and finding solutions to their splinting problems through intensive practical experience. The wide variety of static splints taught will be appropriate to those practicing both orthopedic and general rehabilitation settings. This is a splinting course only! There will be minimal discussion of treatment techniques for various diagnoses, and it is assumed that participants have basic knowledge of hand and upper extremity anatomy.
