This course will discuss anatomy, kinesiology and arthrokinematics as they relate to shoulder rehabilitation. Orthopaedic shoulder evaluation will be demonstrated and practiced during a lab. Posture and its role in the rehabilitative process will be presented. Rationale for developing and progressing a home exercise program will be demonstrated and performed. Outpatient treatment guidelines will be discussed and glenohumeral and scapula mobilization will be demonstrated and practiced utilizing a lab format. An interactive lecture format will be utilized. This course is appropriate for all members of the rehabilitative team that treat orthopaedic shoulder injuries. An emphasis will be placed on the cause and treatment of rotator cuff impingement.
