Epicondylitis, also known as "tennis elbow", "golfer's elbow", and "epitirochlear bursitis" is a common type of overuse injury of the elbow. This course includes the etiology and risk factors for the patient with lateral or medial elbow epicondylitis and identifies the anatomical structures involved with this injury. Distinguishing between lateral and medial epicondylitis and other elbow dysfunctions is discussed. The course lists the components of a comprehensive physical examination of the patient with elbow pain as well as the medical tests and treatment options available for patients diagnosed with epicondylitis. Prevention and physical therapy treatment of epicondylitis are also included.
