This course was written to explain the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. This law addresses a number of healthcare issues, including data transmission and protection, fraud and abuse, and insurance portability. It was designed to safeguard patient privacy while, among other things, make it easier and faster for providers to process insurance claims and get reimbursed.
