Intimate partner violence (IPV) includes physical and sexual violence as well as economic and psychological harm. It occurs in different relationships and settings. This course presents clear descriptions of this multi-faceted problem and sensitizes the learner to the impact of IPV on the individual and community. The course addresses the different forms of IPV, risk factors and consequences, assessment and intervention strategies, and prevention. Confidentiality, reporting requirements, and documentation are discussed.
