Myofascial pain syndrome can be a painful, fatiguing, and debilitating condition that significantly affects quality of life. This course identifies the diagnostic criteria and clinical features and symptoms for myofascial pain syndrome. Possible risk factors and etiology of myofascial pain syndrome are listed. The course explains how other medical dignoses including fibromyalgia may be mistaken for myofascial pain syndrome. Treatment goals and physical therapy treatment approaches for the patient are identified.
