Neuromuscular therapy is an advanced form of body work that strives to address the cause and origin of pain in the neuroskeletal system, not just the effects of the pain. Specific scientific neurological laws that explain how the central nervous system initiates pain responses in the body will be explored. The student will learn how these systems produce the pain responses in the body, then will be guided to develop a treatment plan with client-based goals and needs. The course is applicable to a multidisciplinary group of students in order that this educational process can be used to achieve structural balance in the body and recognize weaknesses in many clinical settings.
