The disabling effects of stroke are significant. A stroke can have a devastating impact on the patient and his/her loved ones. Early intervention helps to decrease mortality and reduce deficits. The purpose of this course is to identify risk factors for stroke, explore the diagnostic tools and treatment interventions available and discuss rehabilitation efforts that maximize patient outcomes while minimizing deficits.
