Title: Enhancing Functional Outcomes in Children Using the DIR®/Floortime™ Model.
DIR®/Floortime™is an exciting intervention approach focusing on improving emotional development for children with challenges in relating and communicating. The playful intervention technique of Floortime™ is used under the overall DIR® Model, which is a comprehensive system to assess and plan for the needs of children with developmental issues. The highly successful approach was developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan and Serena Weider, PhD. The “D” stands for developmental level, the “I” stands for individual differences, and the “R” stands for Relationships that the child needs to develop. Through case studies, participants will learn how to implement this technique with a variety of children from 6 months to 18 years of age.
