The Stress-Diathesis Model is presented where stress is conceived as a trigger to symptoms in individuals who are vulnerable to chronic illnesses. A Stress Management Protocol is outlined that can serve as a model for treating individuals in a group using psychoeducation methods with a variety of diagnoses.
