See all courses from Care2Learn

Instructor's Name: Susan Bazyk, PhD, OTR/, FAOTA

This Introductory Level course emphasizes how occupational therapy practitioners can help all children develop and maintain positive mental health – which is reflected in the presence of positive affect, positive psychological and social functioning, productive activities, and resilience in the face of adversities. Practical strategies for promoting mental health at Tier 1 (all children; e.g., mental health literacy), Tier 2 (at-risk; e.g., those with disabilities or who are bullied), and Tier 3 (those with mental health concerns; e.g., anxiety, depression) will be shared. Examples will illustrate how attention to mental health promotion can be naturally embedded into everyday practice.
