This Introductory Level course describes the characteristics of each of the four generations that are now in the workplace: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X and Generation Y. We will describe who they are, their work ethic, work styles, loyalties and their views on work and the family. The challenges that each generation faces with working in a multigenerational workplace and with regard to the current recession will be discussed. Management practices that engage each generation to fully invest in getting the job done, not just “well” but “with excellence” because they are energized by the work will be presented.
