This new pediatric OT course focuses on incorporating play & fun into the therapy session to intrinsically motivate the pediatric client to participate & meet his/her therapeutic goals. This course defines & integrates therapeutic use of self, activity analysis, frames of reference, and clinical reasoning skills, & selects/adapts meaningful therapeutic activities for the “just right challenge”. Here work is felt as play & challenges are embraced. The history of play & research related to play assessment and intervention are addressed and multiple case studies are presented. This course includes the new 2010 text written by 3 OT’s who are specialists in their field, and a DVD that demonstrates concepts from the book applied to real life sessions. Worksheets, checklists & analysis forms are also provided. A must course for pediatric OT’s.
