(#1322/LIVE) This session will provide foundational information about empowerment theory and its relationship to occupational therapy. It will examine how disempowering beliefs about disabilities, fiscal constraints, and productivity demands can hinder the empowerment of persons with disabilities. Empowering practices, which enable clients' self-direction across the dev. continuum and in different practice settings and policy initiatives and resources that promote empowerment will be presented.
