This entry-level course for occupational and physical therapists and assistants as well as speech pathologist provides an overview of assistive technology (AT) for those therapists who are responsible for recommending and implementing AT to meet the needs of people living with disabilities. Standards of practice and code ethics will be discussed and an assistive technology system will be defined to lay the groundwork for applying specific applications of assistivce technology in practice. Lastly, this course provides information to deliver AT services to the consumer, including: assessment principles, service delivery practices used to determine consumer's needs, measuring outcomes, and identifying and attaining funding for services and equipment.
