Online/Printable/Mailed - 5 Contact Hours - Description: Patient families are an important part of therapy. They provide support as caregivers and sometimes even impede patient progress. They have limits and their own needs and can influence patient health and function through a wide diversity of roles, expectations, and interactions. This course explores the dynamics of family and its influence on the therapeutic process and is appropriate for occupational and physical therapists and assistants as well as speech therapists. Added emphasis will be on the dilemma of determining whether the older adult should continue to drive or not.
