This course provides each learner with a general overview of physical agent modalities and how they are used. This course reviews types of physical agents, the role of physical agents in rehabilitation, contraindications and precautions, how to choose physical agents, and discusses the effects of physical agents as a treatment modality. This is an introductory course for therapists who are new to physical agent modalities or would like to have a stronger foundation to make clinical decisions about selection and use of physical agent modalities in practice. This course is appropriate for occupational and physical therapists and assistants.
