Online/Printable/Mailed - 12 PDUs - Description: This course is about moral decision-making. Recent changes in healthcare brought about by a growing elderly population, increase in medical survivors, and a drive for cost containment, frequently forces occupational therapists to choose between his/her moral duty to the client and an equal but opposite obligation to the payer/provider to contain costs. The result is an ethical dilemma. This course provides the learner with the ethical tools to understand the moral obligations mandated in the O.T. Code of Ethics, and to address the ethical dilemmas and moral tensions that occur on a day-to-day basis. This course is appropriate for clinicians of all levels.
