This course will review upper extremity anatomy and the causes
of upper extremity stiffness. The attendee will use critical thinking
skills to determine the appropriate situations in which to utilize a
static progressive orthosis (SPO) to treat upper extremity stiffness.
In addition, he or she will learn how to fabricate several SPOs
for the upper extremity as well as to identify ways to modify
the orthoses. The course is recommended for the therapist with
intermediate to advanced orthotic fabrication skills.
