Current research has found that up to 60% of the population
of people with mild stroke can have executive dysfunction
which has been shown to impair reintegration back
into complex everyday life activities such as driving and
work. This course will provide in-depth information and
knowledge about current assessment and intervention
strategies to address executive dysfunction in adults with
mild stroke. Current and emerging methods of assessment
will be discussed and demonstrated, specifically the use
of performance-based assessments to identify executive
dysfunction. Current intervention strategies that target
transfer and generalization to real-world environments will be
discussed and demonstrated, specifically, the use of cognitive
strategy training.
