Lymphedema III: Beyond the Basics

This course is open to therapists who have completed a
minimum of 100 hours of prior course work in lymphedema
treatment. It will cover a review and updated understanding
of the structure and function of the lymphatic system as well as
an introduction to the Casley-Smith (Australian) lymphedema
techniques of MLD, self-MLD, and exercises. Measuring and
staging lymphedema and advanced bandaging principles will
also be covered. There will be a specific unit on evaluating
and treating head and neck lymphedema. The emphasis of the
course will be on using your knowledge to problem-solve and
there will be an opportunity to present complex patient cases.
