This course is based on Chapter 15 Evaluation and Training of the Core from Orthopaedic Physical Therapy by Robert A. Donatelli and Michael J. Wooden (4th Edition). This course is for any therapist or therapy assistant who wants a thorough understanding of core evaluation techniques and evidence-based rehabilitation protocols. The authors provide in-depth discussion of observation tips, screening tests, sacroiliac joint and hip dysfunction tests, measurements of core stabilization, balance tests, and manual muscle tests. The course also discusses evaluation of maximum strength, power tests for athletes, and principles of evidence-based core stabilization training. The appendix to this course presents a trunk and hip core evaluation sheet that will be immediately useful in the clinic.
