This course is based on Chapter 30 from Orthopaedic Physical Therapy by Robert A. Donatelli and Michael J. Wooden (4th Edition). The chapter presents a thorough discussion of pain related to disorders of neural tissue. It describes the origins and types of neuropathic pain, describes many useful clinical examination techniques, and presents evidence-based considerations for treatment (including when manual therapy is appropriate and when it is not). This course will be useful to any therapist who treats patients with CNS sensitization, denervation, or peripheral nerve sensitization. Case Studies are included.
