Breast Cancer Rehabilitation for the 21st Century Including Pilates
"Breast Cancer Rehabilitation for the 21st Century Including Pilates”, is a Seminar-On-Demand presented by Naomi Aaronson, MA, OTR/L, CHT. Are you going to know what treatment to provide if you receive a patient who is a breast cancer survivor? Did you know that there are more than 2 million breast cancer survivors in the United States today, as well as the 226,870 new cases of invasive breast cancer to be diagnosed this year. It is important to understand the cognitive, psychological as well as physical issues faced by breast cancer survivors. These issues include pain, loss of range of motion, chemo- brain, lymphedema, weight gain, and sarcopenia. Learn how Pilates based exercise can address many of these issues through it's emphasis upon deep breathing, scapula stabilization, activation of the core, and proper alignment. You will be able to practice the exercises along with the demonstrations to foster your competence.
This Seminar-On-Demand is 4 contact hours in length (check your state’s approval status in the state specific course catalog for your profession).
