Physical therapists, occupational therapists, and assistants often find themselves in the middle of ethical issues in the workplace. In this course several topics related to ethical conflicts are addressed: the four general principles of ethics, physical and occupational therapy ethics and Medicare’s approach to ethics. Multiple case studies demonstrate the relationship between the APTA/AOTA code of ethics and Medicare rules regarding fraud and abuse. How to report fraud and abuse is addressed.
