NBCOT recently completed surveys to identify textbooks and peer-reviewed journals commonly used in occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant educational programs.  The scope of these studies was to survey Entry-level Post-Baccalaureate Occupational Therapy Programs and Occupational Therapy Assistant Programs to identify the most current and commonly used textbooks and peer-reviewed journal references used among entry-level OT programs.  These surveys resulted in an updated reference list of publications used in entry-level OT academic programs which will be used by NBCOT item writers to reference items developed for the OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST REGISTERED OTR® and CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT COTA® certification examinations.  The references will also be available to the Certification Examination Validation Committee (CEVC) to verify and validate items appearing on the certification examinations.
