NBCOT offers a discount on purchases for groups of 15 or more. Groups of less than 15 are subject to the non-discounted rate (see order form for details and pricing information).

The online practice and content tests are available 24-hours a day from any computer with Internet access. Group coordinators will be sent individual login information for each group member with their order. The student may use this information to take the exam at a time of their choosing from any computer with Internet access. There is no need to arrange a time with NBCOT prior to taking the practice test.

NBCOT does not provide item-level feedback or answers to the individual questions contained in the practice test. Candidates who would like to further evaluate their strengths and weaknesses related to a particular practice area may consider purchasing one of the online content tests.  Item-level feedback is provided instantly for these tests as you progress through them (there is no end of test score report for content tests).

NBCOT currently offers one version each of the OTR and COTA multiple-choice online practice tests. When additional versions become available, notice will be made on the NBCOT website.

The online practice tests may only be taken once per purchase.  If a user would like to retake the test to compare results, they must order and pay for another practice test.

Online practice tests are valid for six months from the date of purchase. A user can access purchased exams anytime in this six-month window. 
As long as the user does not submit the exam for scoring, progress will be saved and shown as a percentage upon login at the Castle Worldwide Testing and Training website. Once a practice test has been submitted for scoring, only the results screen will continue to be available through the remainder of the six months.

NBCOT is not able to provide invoices for the purchase of NBCOT study tools.

The actual certification examinations contain 170 (OTR®) or 200 (COTA®) multiple-choice items in an allotted 4-hour time period (the OTR exam also includes 3 simulation problems as part of the exam). The 2-hour version of the practice test most closely mirrors the time allocation of the actual certification examination. The 4-hour version of the practice test allows extra time for reviewing the items and may be particularly useful in group settings.

The 2-hour and 4-hour practice tests each contain 100 multiple-choice items. Both the 2-hour and 4-hour versions of the practice tests each contain the same 100 multiple-choice items.

Individual orders can be placed directly through the Castle Worldwide Testing and Training website.  Logins are provided as soon as ordering and payment has been processed.

Group orders must use the order form provided by NBCOT.  Please allow at least two weeks for order processing.  The group coordinator will be sent login information for the examinations upon completion. Please ensure the order is placed at least two weeks prior to the scheduled exam time if taking the practice test as a group.  NBCOT cannot accommodate rush order requests.

NBCOT does not accept purchase orders for the online study tools.  Acceptable forms of payment include checks (drawn on a U.S. bank), money orders, and credit cards (Visa or MasterCard).
