The NBCOT Occupational Therapy Knowledge Exams (OTKE) are cohort-based online examinations designed exclusively for program director's to assist with analyzing students' performance related to the validated domain and task statements for entry-level practice.

The NBCOT online practice test is a 100-item multiple choice practice test containing items that mirror the test blueprint of the actual certification examinations. The online practice tests are available for anyone to purchase directly from CASTLE Worldwide website. At the end of the test, only the examinee receives a score showing their overall scaled score, and scores across each of the major domain areas of the exam.

The NBCOT Occupational Therapy Knowledge Exam (OTKE) is a cohort-based online examination designed exclusively for program director's to assist with the analyzing of students' performance related to the validated domains AND task statements for entry-level practice. The OTKE tests are purchased and managed through the program director's NBCOT online portal.

The 100-item OTKE is constructed using the same test blueprints that guide construction of the NBCOT certification examinations. The score reporting mechanism allows program directors to select and print customized reports for individual students, classes, or across multiple cohort groups.

The OTKE score reports provide program directors with in-depth information about their students' performance in the following areas:

• Percentage of items scored correctly by each student at each task level;
• Number of items scored correctly by each student across the whole examination;
• Percentage of items scored correctly at the domain level by overall cohort group.

The OTKE costs $25 for each test. It can be purchased and managed by the program director directly through their NBCOT online portal using a VISA or MASTERCARD credit card.

The program director should login to their NBCOT program director's online portal from www.nbcot.org. From the home page of the portal screen, a text box in the lower hand corner of the screen displays links to:

• Access the OTKE manual.
• Purchasing the OTKE tests.
• Manage the OTKE purchases.

The OTKE is an untimed exam. It is recommended that the test is completed in 2 hours. However, if you have a student who requires special testing accomodations, or if you wish to use the OTKE as a part of a class assignment, you can now allow your students to have additional time to complete the tests. Students can monitor their time-use by checking the clock on the menu bar of the computer monitor they are using.   

The login remains active for 180 days.

Use the "Manage your purchased OTKE test" link from your NBCOT portal at any time to see how many of your students have completed the OTKE test.
