Online OTED Application

Candidates can submit an application, check on the status of their application, and update personal information using NBCOT's online OTED application.

Before applying to OTED, the applicant must have:

  • A master's degree in occupational therapy (OT)
  • Sufficient documentation, which includes educational course syllabi, to comply with the review process
  • Documentation to support ALL of the current U.S. occupational therapy entry-level standards
In addition to the application and appropriate supporting documentation, an application fee of $700 (USD) is also required.

Please note: Graduating with a post professional master’s degree in OT in the U.S. does NOT guarantee OTED approval. OTED determinations are granted based on the educational comparability review of an OTED applicant’s combined education.

The online system includes two basic categories of OTED applicants:

  1. New applicants with a master's degree in occupational therapy will create an account by entering an email address and password.
  2. Existing applicants who have applied and received a deficiency determination will sign into their account to access the system.

NBCOT has created a series of instructional videos and guides for each of these groups:

  1. OTED Initial Application Instructional Video
  2. OTED Additional Review Video
Please Note: A $700 (USD) application fee is required as part of the application process.
