NBCOTâ Occupational Therapist Eligibility Determination (OTED)
Internationally-educated occupational therapists and U.S. graduates with baccalaureate degrees seeking eligibility to take the Certification Examination for OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST REGISTERED OTRâ, must first be approved through the OTED Program. OTED applicants are classified as either Category A or Category B.
Category A: Has been awarded a post-baccalaureate degree from an occupational therapy education program recognized by NBCOT (WFOT approved).
Category B: Has graduated from an accredited occupational therapy education program recognized by NBCOT (ACOTE or WFOT) and must present evidence of academic equivalence to American occupational therapy educational standards.
Both Category A and Category B applicants must submit the following OTED materials:

If the original course description is not in English, please provide an official translation along with the original.) NBCOT Visa Credential Verification Certificate (VCVC) Program
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) has granted the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT®), approval to issue healthcare worker certificates (Visa Credential Verification Certificates) to aliens coming to the United States to work in the field of occupational therapy. Only occupational therapists who have successfully passed the certification examination for OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST REGISTERED OTR®, are eligible to apply through the Visa Credential Verification Certificate (VCVC) program.
