Prestigious Awards for Amazing OT Practitioners

The recipients of our Impact and Innovation Awards demonstrate actions that truly support NBCOT's mission of serving the public interest by advancing client care and professional practice.

Award recipients receive their respective award, a featured spotlight in NBCOT publications and social media, and a press release to share the news with others. Additionally, their next certification renewal fee will be waived.

    Innovation Award

    Recognizes OTRs or COTAs who demonstrate the delivery of an evidence-based, effective, and innovative program or intervention that enhances the quality of life for a person or persons.

    Eligibility requirements:

    • Current NBCOT certification is required for the award nominee.
    • The program/intervention must be evidence-based and support the mission of NBCOT.
    • Self-nomination or nomination by others is accepted.

    Nomination process:

    1. Submit a nomination form.
    2. Attach the following documents:
      1. Program information to include two of any of the following: website link, brochure, press release, or publication
      2. Nominee's résumé

    Award submissions will open in early 2024.


    Impact Award

    Recognizes practitioners who demonstrate exceptional professional commitment through dedication, hard work, and outstanding OT skills to improve their clients’ overall life satisfaction and their engagements in valued occupations.

    Eligibility requirements:

    • Current NBCOT certification is required for the award nominee.
    • Strong connection to the NBCOT mission must be demonstrated.
    • Self-nomination or nomination by others is accepted.

    Nomination process:

    1. Submit a nomination form.
    2. Attach the following documents:
      1. Two written impact statements (i.e., testimonial from a client/family member/colleague)
      2. Nominee's résumé

    Award submissions will open in early 2024.
